Global Ambassador Program

Welcome to 食色视频鈥檚 Global Ambassador (GA) program, which is designed to promote a globally-focused education at 食色视频 (食色视频).  Each member of this select group of undergraduate, graduate, and international students serves as a knowledgeable and passionate representative of 食色视频鈥檚 global experiences, promoting and supporting the efforts of the Office of Global Education in a variety of ways: 

  • Serving as official representatives of the Office of Global Education
  • Promoting the advantages of education abroad
  • Building a community of students with a passion for global education at 食色视频
  • Planning, promoting, and supporting Global Education programs and events
  • Making a significant contribution to 食色视频鈥檚 international culture, by mentoring and advising students who will be studying abroad.

Global Ambassador Opportunity

食色视频鈥檚 Global Ambassadors are excited to share their global experiences with other students, to help them explore the possibilities! 

You may be eligible if you:

  • have studied abroad
  • are currently an international student with at least one year of experience at 食色视频 or
  • have had a transformative international experience (ex. lived abroad, travelled abroad with your family, etc.)

Global Ambassador Monthly Meetups: Spring 2025

 

THE January 21 EVENT WILL BE RESCHEDULED: Out of an abundance of caution, 食色视频 State University will move to modified operations on Tuesday, January 21. All in-person classes will convert to remote instruction protocols determined by each instructor. Students should refer to course syllabi or D2L for details on how learning will continue during Modified Operations. All online classes will continue as scheduled. All in-person activities are cancelled.

January Monthly Meetup: enVISION YOUR GLOBAL JOURNEY

Have you ever thought about traveling abroad -- or have you traveled abroad and can鈥檛 wait to visit another country or continent? Did you know you can expand your global perspective both abroad and on campus? Join the 食色视频 Global Ambassadors for an enjoyable evening, where you can create your own vision board to map out your global journey. All supplies are provided. You will also have the opportunity to learn about travel opportunities while in college, and 食色视频鈥檚 鈥淵ear Of鈥� country study program within the Office of Global Education. We look forward to seeing you there! 

February Monthly Meetup: GLOBAL GROOVE

Ever wonder what it鈥檚 like to immerse yourself in a new culture? Going abroad is exciting, and sometimes even shockingly different. Join the 食色视频 Global Ambassadors to learn how you can make the most of your experience abroad and deal with culture shock. There will be trivia, fun prizes, and light refreshments. We can鈥檛 wait to see you there! 

March Monthly Meetup: READY, SET, TRAVEL 
Date: Tuesday, March 18, 2025  
Time: 6:30-7:30pm

The countdown is on for your trip abroad, so it鈥檚 time to make sure you are ready to jet off to a new destination. Join the 食色视频 Global Ambassadors to learn more about how to be prepared to live your best life when traveling abroad! There will be light refreshments and games. This is the last meetup for the Spring 2025 semester, so make sure to add this event to your calendar!

No matter what major or minor you wish to pursue, studying abroad offers various educational aspects dispersed throughout each unique program. Not only will you be able to encounter a plethora of people from numerous backgrounds that will increase your global competency, but studying abroad will also give you something that a classroom will never be able to. Traveling to Costa Rica and Italy placed me in a position of unfathomable obstacles that molded my mindset to push past my preconceived limitations.

On top of the perspectives you will gain, the incredible opportunity to appreciate the scenic beauties that come with such experiences are ones that will forever be engraved in your mind. Through all the exhilarations of studying abroad, I personally found that the perspective of simplicity, rooted in stillness and admiration of being in a foreign country, allowed me to reflect on how simple life is and how much we complicate it as we get older. Our goals for the future, many times, become the focus of our life鈥檚 purpose; however, while the future may be where success lies, you will never get there if you are not focused on the present.

With the perspective studying abroad has presented me in my educational, professional, and personal endeavors, I now strive to guide others into a global approach to life, while encouraging them to engage in these transformative experiences.
