    Howard Hughes Medical Institute awards $1 million grant to ʳɫÊÓƵ State

    June 20, 2018

    Led by the College of Science and Mathematics (CSM), ʳɫÊÓƵ was awarded a $1 million grant by the Howard Hughes Medical Institute (HHMI) to improve STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) diversity and inclusion, with a focus on increasing science degree success for African-American and Hispanic students.

    ʳɫÊÓƵ is being represented by nearly 100 students this week at the 2018 National Conference on Undergraduate Research (NCUR) in Edmond, Oklahoma. More than 4,000 students from 400 colleges and universities are presenting their research April 4-7 at the prestigious annual conference. With 93 students attending, ʳɫÊÓƵ State's number of participants is second only to the host institution, the University of Central Oklahoma.

    Coca-Cola donates $1.25 million to support ʳɫÊÓƵ State scholarship program

    ʳɫÊÓƵ has received a $1.25 million donation from The Coca-Cola Foundation for the creation of a scholarship program supporting first-generation students. The Coca-Cola First Generation and Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) Scholars program will provide scholarships and wraparound services to 35 students who identify as first generation – those who are first in their immediate families to seek college degrees.
