The GYAP has proven to be successful using strategies such as peer education, providing educational speakers to schools, and encouraging schools to develop creative and innovative techniques to reduce young adult crashes, injuries and fatalities in their communities.

鈥淥ur state鈥檚 teen drivers represent a disproportionate number of drivers involved in crashes that involve injuries and deaths on Georgia鈥檚 roadways鈥氣 said Allen Poole, director of the Governor鈥檚 Office of Highway Safety. 鈥淲e look forward to our colleges and universities working with their peers to change the perception that crashes are accidents鈥 which can鈥檛 be prevented.
