About the Artist
Lola Okunola, an award-winning mixed media artist, draws creative inspiration from the rich tapestry of African culture and fashion. Her journey bridges continents and cultures, shaping a unique artistic voice that blends traditional African aesthetics with contemporary expression.
Represented by Mash Gallery in West Hollywood and with art now displayed at The Hamilton Hotel, a prestigious venue in Alpharetta, Lola鈥檚 work continues to gain prominence. Her Heritage in Huesshowcase at the Distillery of Modern Art (DoMA) explores themes of identity and heritage, while her appointment to the Arts and Culture Commission of Brookhaven (North Atlanta) highlights her influence as a cultural ambassador.
With a Bachelor鈥檚 degree in Management from Georgia State University and an MBA in Information Systems from DeVry University鈥檚 Keller Graduate School of Management, Lola鈥檚 professional background in IT and informatics complements her artistic pursuits. Her multidisciplinary approach has been celebrated in exhibitions at The Scene Art Gallery, Zari Gallery London, Jennifer Balcos Gallery, Spotlight on Art at Trinity School, and West Elm stores in Atlanta and Houston, Northpoint Mall, CBS鈥檚 Bob Hearts Abishola, on the Portia Show on Fox and more, captivates audiences with its vibrant fusion of African and global cultures.
